A model for the analysis of security policies in service function chains

Two emerging architectural paradigms, i.e., Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV), enable the deployment and management of Service Function Chains (SFCs). A SFC is an ordered sequence of abstract Service Functions (SFs), e.g., firewalls, VPN-gateways,traffic monitors, that packets have to traverse in the route from source to destination. While this appealing solution offers significant advantages in terms of flexibility, it also introduces new challenges such as the correct configuration and ordering of SFs in the chain to satisfy overall security requirements. This paper presents a formal model conceived to enable the verification of correct policy enforcements in SFCs. Software tools based on the model can then be designed to cope with unwanted network behaviors (e.g., security flaws) deriving from incorrect interactions of SFs in the same SFC

This research aims to determine the influence of job stress and job statistification towards employee's preformance (case study Rumah Sakit Az-Azahra Ujungbatu). Job stress as variable X1, job statistification as variable X2 and employee's preformance as variable Y.The research method in this research is quantitative method with SPSS programme, which the sample is the medic employee as much as 47 respondents. The sample in this research is 47 employees of Rumah Sakit Az-Azahra Ujungbatu Which is all of the population. The data is collected through the questionnaires. The results of this research concludes that the variable of job stress is significantly influential to employees perfoormance and the job statification is significantly influential to the employee's performance, and job stree and job stratification are simultaneously influenctial to the employee's performance

Pengaruh Self Efficacy terhadap Peningkatan Kemampuan Afektif Kader Kesehatan dan Dampak pada Perilaku Sehat Gigi melalui Model Deteksi Ohi-s, Dmft Indeks

Community indifference with the behavior of keeping oral hygiene has influenced the rate of dental aches. Health cadres as representatives of health providers were expected to inform people trying to prevent from getting problems with their teeth and to promote dental care in their areas. Self efficacy is the confidence a person feels about performing a particular activity. including confidence in overcoming barriers in performing those behaviors. This research was a quasi experimental with pre-post test group design. It was conducted in Gondang Wetan Subdistrict, Pasuruan Regency, East Java Province. Samples were 92 health cadres in the area of Gondang Wetan Health Center. Data for a significant increase of self efficacy after an intervention was statistically analyzed by Hotelling"S trace. The self efficacy of the cadres through a process of affectiVe abilities on dental health behavioral change was analyzed using Structure Equation Models (SEM). From results of the research, it was concluded that: (1) there was a significant increase on affective abilities of the cadres after the intervention, (2) self efficacy had a positive and significant effect on affective abilities of the health cadres, (3) the affective abilities of the cadres had a positive and significant effect on dental behaviors. The self efficacy through affective abilities on dental health behaviors is expected to be useful for the Ministry of Health Program to improve mothers' and children's dental health behaviors by participation of the health cadres in preparing future generations to be free from any caries diseases. Key ords: self efficacy, affective, dental health behavio

An Upsilon Point in a Spin Model

We present analytic evidence for the occurrence of an upsilon point, an infinite checkerboard structure of modulated phases, in the ground state of a spin model. The structure of the upsilon point is studied by calculating interface--interface interactions using an expansion in inverse spin anisotropy.Comment: 18 pages ReVTeX file, including 6 figures encoded with uufile

A Measure of data-collapse for scaling

    Get PDF
Data-collapse is a way of establishing scaling and extracting associated exponents in problems showing self-similar or self-affine characteristics as e.g. in equilibrium or non-equilibrium phase transitions, in critical phases, in dynamics of complex systems and many others. We propose a measure to quantify the nature of data collapse. Via a minimization of this measure, the exponents and their error-bars can be obtained. The procedure is illustrated by considering finite-size-scaling near phase transitions and quite strikingly recovering the exact exponents.Comment: 3 pages, revtex, 3 figures,2 in colour. Branching Transition of a Directed Polymer in Random Medium

A directed polymer is allowed to branch, with configurations determined by global energy optimization and disorder. A finite size scaling analysis in 2D shows that, if disorder makes branching more and more favorable, a critical transition occurs from the linear scaling regime first studied by Huse and Henley [Phys. Rev. Lett. 54, 2708 (1985)] to a fully branched, compact one. At criticality clear evidence is obtained that the polymer branches at all scales with dimension dˉc{\bar d}_c and roughness exponent ζc\zeta_c satisfying (dˉc−1)/ζc=0.13±0.01({\bar d}_c-1)/\zeta_c = 0.13\pm 0.01, and energy fluctuation exponent ωc=0.26±0.02\omega_c=0.26 \pm0.02, in terms of longitudinal distanceComment: REVTEX, 4 pages, 3 encapsulated eps figure

    Construction of a high-efficiency multi-site-directed mutagenesis

    Get PDF
Although site-directed mutagenesis has been used in many fields, it still has low rate of success and high cost because of low-yield target products. A modified method for multi-site-directed mutagenesis was developed with shifted primer design and cold-start polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The developed method was successfully applied to hexapeptide gene synthesis and recombinant enterokinase gene modification in the plasmids pET41a and pET24b-EK. The efficiency was pronounced at a 1:10 molar ratio of 7-base mutant products to 705-bp fragment products as control. Even in a 10-base substitution mutagenic PCR, a 1:50 molar ratio of mutant  products to 705-bp fragment products was reached. Meanwhile, the quality of mutants was proved through the transformation efficiency and  sequencing. This method was beneficial to prepare high-quality multibase mutagenesis and also implied that large-scale multibase mutagenesis was feasible, efficient, economical, and productive.Key words: Site-directed multibase mutagenesis, shift primer, hexapeptide gene, enterokinase gene
